isDesign®

Overview

isDesign® is a stand alone single member sizing application that allows users to engineer joists, beams, headers, columns, and studs using user defined loads and criteria to develop a single calculation and or quotes and cutting for that member. isDesign® can also receive an imported design job file from isPlan® and batch design, print calcs, cut, and quote all of those design files within the click of a button. isDesign® has many new graphical and input features that can help a user with the design process.

Design Assumptions

Calculated Structured Designs (CSD) assumes that the person using this software has a working knowledge of isDesign® (single member sizing software). This includes standard construction practices and development for both gravity and out of plane wind loads. isDesign® will receive imported member data from isPlan® (layout software) and provide analysis results based on the model created by the user. It is the user’s sole responsibility to determine if their results are appropriate and reasonable.

isDesign® supports ASD and LSD design methods. Users can choose the method appropriate for their building code and location.
